170×170 day 71 10.7.15

71 10.7.15 rispetto and gogyohka

Everything I do is not
Is not what I depend on
Some things are done to be true, just,
and then things are done for simple fun.

Not everything I eat is
My hot favorite flavor, dish.
Some things are swallowed for own good,
Some things are just because we could.

………………………………………………………………………………………

There are things in life
That we just do,
Not because we have to,
But because we want to,
just for fun or relief.

Dance with me my sister faes
On the dew drenched grass under moon,
and we will dance till morning shows
Draped in her pure, crystal gown.

Let the sweet summer wind play and
crickets play their merry band,
we will dance till we may swoon,
under the sweet, silver spring moon.

………………………………………………………………………………………

Life is a beautiful dream if we allow it to be,
Sometimes it wants a dose of impossibility,
To live a perfect life in our own scale,
We may think about tampering it a little harmless fantasies
With wildest dream and sweetest lies, dreams.

Gogyohka Rules

The form like the Japanese Tanka is five lines long. There are no restrictive syllable counts though lines are supposed to be short and concise and end where the voice naturally breaks. Also other restrictions such as needing to use season words are absent from gogyohka. It is also okay to talk about feelings and other such human matters. Other than five short lines the only other requirement is to use sharp concise images.

Form Rispetto ~ A Rispetto an Italian form which is a complete poem of two rhyming quatrains abab ccdd. Syllable count is 8 per line
