she moves with grace
under the shadows
of the twisted mangrove trees,
the queen of jungle.
velvety golden body
striped to rhyme with shadows
powerful claws and jaws
deadly weapons of “her grace”!
her kingdom is under threat,
her world is shrinking,
every time she rebels
her enemies get the upper hand.
as she lies in the shadows,
waiting for these days to end,
she wonders sometimes
where will her offspring end.
in the books of history?
in the display section of museum?
or the wisest of the beast will act wise,
and her offspring will rule the wild….

THIS POEM IS INSPIRED FROM THE POST IN THARANGINI’S BLOG (http://animewzic.blogspot.com/) . I LOVE BIG CATS AND UNFORTUNATELY HUMAN BEINGS ARE EXTREMELY BUSY TO WIPE THEM OUT.
IT’S A SINCERE REQUEST TO THESE MURDERERS – PLEASE DON’T DESTROY THEM OR ANY OTHER THING WHICH YOU CANT RETURN.

A bookworm transformed into an addicted writer. I love to write and illustrate them myself. By love I mean love, no half-hearted relationship, a full-fledged, passionate love, I can’t pass two days in a stretch without writing/painting (cyber), just feel empty like lovers do when their lovers are away on a tour!
Even though I am thoroughly enjoying self-publishing with amazon, but if you like my work and want to publish my works in your magazine, books or better if you want to publish a book of my works please make me very happy by contacting me.
Or if you want to sell my works on commission basis only!! contact me, I will be quite relieved. Honestly writing and selling your own work is a very BORING combination. So you are more than welcome!

Oh Trisha — beyond the lovely poem, your prayer at the end is heart-rending. Yes– please don’t destroy what you cannot return.
Beautiful poem. You did an amazing job on the painting! As usual. I, too, hope that humans will protect these beautiful creatures. Blessings to you, Trisha…
Awww! This is beautiful, Trisha. So sad for the tigers…and this is happening to so many species. Heartbreaking…
you have done these beautiful cats justice. I agree with you don’t wipe something that cannot be returned!
I love this one. Thank you for taking me into her life. So sad to wonder the ending, guess no matter what species we are, we wonder the safety of our children.
Beautiful and a just cause.
Awe…. poor little tigers.

Afraid the tiger’s days may not be a wonderful as they should be because of man…a fine verse.
A wakeup call to the beastliest of beasts–will we listen?
Lovely painting and super poem to the tiger, Trisha. Brought tears to my eyes.
I am going to this movie about the tiger I see advertised, here, and know I will cry. …but they said that some of the proceeds will go to helping to protect these magnificent beasts. I may go twice or thrice.
This is breathtaking… yes we should all stand up to save all the beautiful creatures who roamed this earth before we did.
What a darling painting, Trisha, I love it. Sweet!
Thank you for a fine poem as well and it is so true that the ranks of the big cats are being decimated over time. Sad.
aww…i hope the large cats survive for some time…they are so elegant and powerful all in one…
Fine words that bring a deep sense of sadness at the cruelty and injustice of the world. Love the picture you have posted with this xx
