Now my poem for this week’s Thursday Poet Rally:

Shower of flower

It was a moonlit night
He was traveling alone
On his white steed
He was galloping away
Back to his palace
From a distant place
He stopped his stallion
Beside a crystal, clear pool.

The stallion was hungry and thirsty
So was the prince riding the steed
He sat looking at the pool
While the stallion grazed happily
He never even knew
When he fell asleep
He woke up by some noise
Could hardly believe his eyes.

A group of fairies were swimming
laughing, splashing the water around
he saw they have left their wings
on the shore to keep them dry
every fairy has her own wings
matching to the colour of her dress
he sneaked out and picked up golden ones
and crept inside the bush again.

The fairies came out of the pool
Golden fairy could not find her wings
The others left her behind at dawn
That was the rule of fairy kingdom
They could be on earth only during night.
The prince came out with the wings
The fairy begged him to return them
His condition was to marry him.

They married, had a daughter
Then one night the fairy recovered
Her wings that her lover has hidden
She flew away to her kingdom
The place where she belonged
Left behind her daughter
Prettier than the fairy herself
As a memory of their love.

The princess grew up with special powers
It rained flowers when she laughed
It rained diamond, ruby when she cried
A greedy demon got enticed
He stole the princess, took her to his den
He ordered her to marry him in vain
The moment he ordered her two wings formed
A pair of golden wings like her mom.

She flew away to the sky laughing
The furious demon came out in open
Shower of flowers greeted him
The more he got angry, the more she laughed
Soon he was half buried in fragrant flowers
Feeling like a fool he went back to his den
The princess flew back to her father again.
Leaving behind her a carpet of flowers.

    1. Yes. half of the credit goes to you. I spend quite an ample amount of time reading poems on other blogs-and that credit goes solely to you. Thanks a lot dear friend.

      Happy Easter to you too.

      with lots of affection

  2. I love fairies!
Cute story, but you left me hanging! Does the princess ever meet her mom? Did the prince let the daughter return to Fairyland where she belongs? Or was she content to live as a princess with wings. haha.

    1. nice question, but i have heard that fairies can hide their wings LOL

she was not a pure fairy, she was half human…. so….

in my part of world fairies if they have children with human beings usually desert them without looking back, so….

  3. This is really sweet. instead of being provoked by the evil intent of the demon she rained flowers on him. this goes a long way to teach moral lessons. beautiful indeed.

    1. dear emmanuel,
thats because she knew she was completely safe from him. people get provoked when they are cornered or are made feel insecured/humilliated.

      πŸ™‚
      with warmest wishes,

  4. wow, this was so amazing! I really enjoyed the vivid details and the beauty surrounding this poem.

    1. thanks a ton (yessssssssssssss) πŸ™‚ for making my day and weekend and the week to come.

      will collect very soon.

      with lots of affection,

  5. Sprinkle dust of happiness without a care
Flying from here and next to there
Above all the carpet filled scape with flowers
On each bright moment in all the golden hours
The demon that was there, ranted with rage
The fairies had a fairy tale and kept him on stage
But he struggled so hard with all his power
It was the fairies who gave him the carpet of flowers…

    enjoy Golden Lotus of God’s Love(+) πŸ™‚

    1. dearest soulbro,
this one was lovely, so very true, the carpet of flower could not make the demon happy πŸ™‚
      with lots of affection,

    1. dearest gg,
thanks. πŸ™‚ I too agree with emmanuel but the critic inside me added some points to it. πŸ™‚
wish you a wonderful weekend too.
