envelop your world, being
once in a while

For haiku heights @ http://haiku-heights.blogspot.com the theme this week is “innocence”

blissful

a heart full of love,
a soul that knows what trust is,
blissful innocence.

born again

Burns in the hell’s blaze
Loses everything, regains,
A true star is born.

resonance

ever resonant,
omnipresent resonance
resonantly spread.

I hear your song,
every thing I hear holds
your song’s resonance.

your song rings in rain,
thunders spread its resonance,
it hums in the drops.

swish of falling snow,
wind waltzing on tree branches,
your flute’s resonance.

you sing, I hear
my world fills up, overflows,
resonance hums on.

You got me right, I played with the theme. All the stanzas are haikus, I hope they make individual sense too.

nigh

soft is the sigh,
sounding in the spring breeze,
summer is nigh.

puppets

strings attached to fate,
we dance as per her orders,
colourful puppets.

seeing only dolls,
gaily dancing on stage,
strings never visible.
his unseen fingers,
controls every move deftly,
puppets get the claps.

they dance in joy,
unaware of her hold,
thinking they are free.

These are four separate haikus thinking of “puppets”.

hush!

hush my darling!
close your eyes, let dreams play,
till sun says high.

command

his deft fingers talk,
strings release melody brook,
music becomes slave

Sharmishtha basu
22.3.11

wings

a pair of wings
strong enough to explore the world
is all I ask.

Sharmishtha basu
14.3.11

simmering

white, placid sheet
simmering in sunshine
hiding spring within

Sharmishtha basu

mirage

it looked so soothing,
calm, cool, serene, refreshing
vanished as mirage.

impressions

we are just the same
see that impression on wall,
mine is bit small

Sharmishtha basu
10.2.11

spy hole

warm invitation
a night wrapped in passion
watching camera

Sharmishtha basu
2.2.11

splendour

dazzling gold torrent
exploding from a volcano
a killer splendour

Sharmishtha basu
31.1.11

sin

tabooed love, lovely eyes
temptation too strong to shun
heart sways towards sin

Sharmishtha basu
23.1.11

insomnia

watching stars sparkling
see them close their lil eyes
insomniac me

Sharmishtha basu
13.1.11

celestial

a heart full of love
love filled eyes, words and gaze
so celestial.

  1. simply fabulous, you are really very talented, its an amazing poetry. your emotions are as pure as nature. i have simply no words to write the way i wanna appretiate. i read in your blog that you paint also but could not get the link.
i’ll try to find it some other day. the curiosity will not let me wait for long.

    • all the pictures (almost everyone) that i use with my poems are painted by me, they are repaintings mostly, i paint using microsoft paintbrush not the real one :)

      • thats really nice, i was thinking that these are being copied. the medium is not important but the art. i have tried in paint shop, choosing colors is not so easy, your chouce is very natural.
        and thanks for inspiring me.

      • that is the big thing, if you repaint a picture someone else has already chosen the colour. when i tried my hands on real paintbrush i used to massacre the pictures while painting, in computer i can experiment hundreds of colours before zeroing on one. you can try that – keep trying colours till one makes you feel “this is the one”. Even after that you can keep a dozen copies of same picture in contrasting colours.

  2. ya sure. i think we both can learn a lot form each other.

I love to make friends amongst my readers. So, if you are generous enough to pamper my works by your comments (and leave your urls) I will be happy to do the same.
