She was born in a remote village, studied in night school got married at a very early age. After marriage she expressed her desire to teach in local night school, initially her wish was not granted but finally her husband’s family gave in and she started to teach. Apart from teaching there she earned the chance of learning how to fix solar lanterns in barefoot college a voluntary organization working in the fields of education, skill development, health, drinking water, women empowerment and electrification through solar power for the upliftment of rural people.
This definitely reminds me of the stories of India. I grew up in America, but I can still see how girls are treated when I do make trips to India. Definitely a great post!
